And the Nobel Peace Prize goes to… the Internet!

“The Internet can be considered the first weapon of mass construction, which we can deploy to destroy hate and conflict and to propagate peace and democracy,” said Riccardo Luna, editor-in-chief of the Italian edition of Wired magazine.

Those who agree with this statement  and would like to sign a petition, nominating the net, can do so on the freshly launched Internet for Peace website. There is a plain-sphere on the site that scrolls down, displaying names and countries, in real time, of those who are supporting this idea.

“People want peace and given a voice, the’ss work tirelessly for it” said Wired U.S Editor-in-Chief Chris Anderson.

In my personal opinion, the last Iranian election showed that short twitter messages are not equivalent to the AK-47 bullet, but in long term the keyboard (go get some from PC-SPEZIALIST on-line shop!) might be more powerful then a sword. And without bullets, a sword is better then an AK-47, but this is not the point I’m trying to make. My point rather is: No single human or organization affects the modern livestyle more than the Internet does. If anything or anyone deserves this prize, then it’s the Internet.
